I I have provided singing activity which has attracted their attention for my next teaching process. They also get the ideas of what they are going to learn in this lesson. Other than that, my group activity in my practice stage is also my strength in this lesson because my pupils were enjoying the activity where they need work in group and list down all the things in their school bag. They really enjoy listing all the things that in their bag and share it with their friends. I have allocated time for all the above activities in my teachers' planning and it went as what it have been planned. <br /><br /><br /><b> Lessons weaknesses</b> <br /><br />For this lesson, I only have 1 weakness that is my production stage. My worksheets is too simple for my students’ level. I have allocated 20 minutes for them to do the worksheets. But they can finished everything in less in 10 minutes. So , as PLAN B, I gave them extra exercise which I wrote on the whiteboard. <br /><br /><b>Learning suggestions</b> <br /><br />For the next lesson, I will be more careful and aware in preparing worksheets for my students. I will make sure their level of learning before I prepare their worksheets. <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b>Strength:</b><br /><br />My strength in this lesson is that I have been using interesting and colorful pictures, videos and songs for this lesson. These teaching tools also attracted my students’ attention during the teaching and learning process and thus helped me in my learning objectives. They seem eager to answer my questions and discuss the characters that they saw in the story I showed to them. Therefore, my class during the learning process was under controlled and the lesson went smoothly. Other than that, I also was giving them clear and simple questions when it comes to the questioning stage. I also gave each of them opportunity to answer my questions so that they will have opportunity to give their own answers. Although, not all of them were able to answer my question using the proper English, they still tried to answer even using BM. Lastly, I also discussed about some moral values in the story with them and guided them how to apply the values in their daily life<br /><br /><b>Weaknesses :</b><br />My first weakness is my time management. I have set the time for each stage but I cannot run successfully. I have to skip my closure because I don’t have enough time anymore. This is because I spent a lot of time in the questioning and discussion stage. My other weakness is my set induction. I found out that I have failed to attract my students during the set induction as what a set induction supposed to be. They only started to attract in my lesson during the presentation stage when I asked them to come in front and sing a song before watch the story.<br /><br /><b>Suggestions </b><br /><br />After listing all my strengths and weaknesses in his lesson, I realized that I need to improve all my weaknesses so that I can provide more effectives teaching learning process fir the next lesson. I will provide activities that according to the time allocated for each stages to avoid from the time redundant problem. I will also provides an interesting and attractive 5 minutes activity for the set induction as what it suppose to be. A set induction is a vital component in an English class because from the set induction, I can lure or attract the students towards my lesson and make my lesson more meaningful. I have been teaching there for 7 years. I faced a lot of difficulties teaching English to the pupils because English language is not their spoken language. They prefer to use their mother tongue language to communicate with their friends and even the local teacher which came from the same area are speaking using their own mother tongue when communicate with the pupils. They are surrounded by their own language everywhere in the school. In my first year, I was assigned to teach year 6. I was really surprised with the students. 1st lesson, comprehension, out of 52 year 6 students only 2 or 3 can speak proper English when answering my questions. The rest of them just sit down and looked at my face waiting for me to give me the answers. 2nd lesson, writing. Again, I was really-really surprised as this topic like never been learning before. They can’t even write simple sentence based on the picture that has been given. Even if they can, there are lot of grammatical error that I can spot especially simple pronounce he and she. This mean they still don’t know how to use the proper basis pronoun which they have learn in primary 1. 3rd lesson, reading. I found out only 30% of them can read English. So,I have decided to make a diagnostic test based on their reading and writing. After the test, I found out that most of them were struggling to answer the question from paper 2 which is writing because. Then, I divided the class into three groups based on the results obtained from the test which is group 1 (A and B), group 2 (C and D) and group 3 (E and F). I provided different types of exercises for each group, especially for writing. For group 3. I had to use the flash card and pictures cards again because there were still very weak in their English vocabulary. My main objective for this group is that they can recognize, memorize, spell and write simple sentences based on the picture given. This will enable them can answer the question first of two papers. For example; If the picture given showed 2 people eating in a restaurant. They can write, 'There are two people in the picture' or 'There are eating'. I also emphasised on how to answer question 2(a) and 2(b) which is transferring information from the English Paper 2. My target for this group is C for their UPSR. For group 2, I have provided exercises about the same as Group 3 but more challenging compared to Group 3. I am more focused on the use of the use of adjective in their sentence. For example, 'There are two young people in the restaurant'. ‘Young’ is an adjective that describe the ‘two people’ or 'They were eating slowly'. ‘Slowly’ is an adjective that describe the way they eat. For this group, my target is B for their UPSR. For Group 1, I just gave them enrichment exercises emphasized on the use of adjectives and nouns in the use of their sentences.
